The Waiting Game
|
 |

Waiting on Anna was difficult, but with so much to
do, time was really a good thing.

Jan. 23, 2008 Oh My!
March 5, 2008 Gazing at "Baby Anna"
at the OB/GYN office
April 18, 2008 Getting fat and pregnant.
Mommy has gained 15 pounds so far!

April 24, 2008 Diapers for the new
baby!

May 2, 2008 Hitting Babies
'R' Us

May 9, 2008 While in Greenville,
we hit Target to shop for Anna and showed Bella how the infant seat would be installed.

May 12, 2008 While in Greenville,
we picked up a couple of things at St. Anthony's Catholic Bookstore for Anna's room. We bought a new book, art for the nursery
window, and a crucifix for the armoir.

June 10-11, 2008 Before the Requiem
Mass and the Funeral Mass, respectively, for Fr. Chris' mother in Greenville, S.C. (Father Chris was one of my three
best friends in high school and is Bella's Godfather.)
July 1, 2008 We're seven months pregnant!
I'm up and chipper ... until I see the size of that baby belly, LOL ...
July 2, 2008 Daddy talks to baby Anna
before bed
July 13, 2008 My big, fat baby shadow
at the Riverdogs game
July 14, 2008 Bella and I painted
the nursery on the 10th and have placed a few things in the room ... but we still have a long way to go! Bella
gives my big ol' baby belly a hug while I take photos.
July 24, 2008 What a day. Bella
got her "birth day" scrubs in the mail. They are personalized with her name and came with a stethoscope! We also got the Sit-N-Stand
LX Galaxy Stroller that I've been wanting. Bella thinks it's "Too cool, Mom!!" Oh, and I was placed on bed
rest thanks to preterm labor issues.
July 25, 2008 Bella sang a
song to Anna, and proved Mommy's theory that Daddy is the "fetus whisperer," while waiting on to get a second shot of Celestone
at the hospital.
July 29, 2008 The rocker is finally in place
... and ready to rock Anna to sleep. We are 99% finished packing the bag. Bella wrote the following "letter"
to Anna all by herself! She "sounded out" the word 'baby' ... Way to go Bella!
July 31, 2008 I have been talking about
getting my belly painted ... so Bella decided to do it for me. LOL, first she painted Steve and Blue from "Blue's Clues,"
then she painted a baby alligator and a butterfly.

~ Playing the Name Game ~
When we found out that we were having a girl, the name
was of utmost importance. Afterall, Bella was named after Queen Isabella I of Spain ("Isabella the Catholic"), so
this child needed an imperial name as well. After much discussion, we decided that this one would be named
after one of the Romanov princesses -- Anastasia. Keeping with our faith, we chose the middle name "Rose," as the flower represents
not only the Blessed Virgin Mary, but the blood of Christ as well. (It's said that white roses in Paradise blushed when
the Blessed Mother kissed them ... it's a motif that we definitely used in Anna's nursery.)
